Monika Järg on tekstiilidisainer kes väljendab end oma loomingus struktuuride ja mustrite keeles ning loob lahendusi lähtuvalt materjalidest, tehnoloogiast ja eesmärgist.

Annan vaipadele nende olemuse ja ilme, tuginedes oma teadmistele, kogemusele ja intuitsioonile. Kangakudumise põhitõed on kandunud aastatuhandete tagant tänasesse päeva. Kaasaegne tehnoloogia lisab sageli vaid efektiivsust ja tagab ühtlase kvaliteedi.Erandid siiski eksisteerivad.

Mul on olnud privileeg disaineri ja arendajana olla seotud kaasaegse Eesti tootmisettevõttega.  Olla seal nii tähelepaneliku kuulaja, reeglitega piiratud meistri kui ka kirgliku looja rollis.

Näitusel esitletavad vaibad on valmistatud Narma Lihula vaibavabrikus, kootuna tänapäevastel jacquard-kudumismasinatel. Narmas väljatöötatud unikaalne smartWeave® tehnoloogia võimaldab esmapilgul võimatut. Tulemus on mitmekihiline kangas, kahepoolne vaip, mille mõlemad pooled eristuvad mustri ja värvilahenduses.

Kangaste koelõnga puuvill on 100% taaskasutatud.

Teoste pildikeele allikaks on ümbritsev keskkond – vaipadel kujutatu on PEEGELDUS kogetust. KUUSIKU pikkvaipade rombimustri värvigradatsioonis kumab hommikuudus mets. KIRNA põrandavaibal heidab roostik varju päikeses helenduvale veepinnale. NEHATU helisummutavatelt seinapaneelidelt kajavad rabamaastiku suvised ja talvised struktuurid.

Monika Järg (s 1975) on tekstiilidisainer, kelle igapäevane töö on põrandavaipade kujundamine ja arendamine ettevõtetes Narma OÜ ja Tekstiil Ruumis OÜ.Ta on lõpetanud Eesti Kunstiakadeemia (EKA) tekstiili eriala ning töötanud õppejõuna EKA-s, Tartu Kõrgemas Kunstikoolis ja TÜ Viljandi Kultuuriakadeemias. Ta on Eesti Disainerite Liidu ja Eesti Kunstnike Liidu liige.

Monika Järg is a textile designer who expresses herself through the language of structures and patterns in her work and creates solutions based on materials, technology, and purpose.

I design the character and appearance of my rugs based on my knowledge, experience, and intuition. The basics of weaving have been passed down through the millennia to the present day. Modern technology can often simply increase efficiency and ensure consistent quality.

However, there are exceptions.

As a designer and developer, I have had the privilege of working with a modern Estonian company where I have taken on the roles of an attentive listener, a craftsman bound by rules, and a passionate designer

The rugs displayed at the current exhibition are produced at the Narma Lihula rug factory, woven on modern Jacquard looms. The unique smartWeave® technology developed by Narma enables something that at first glance seems impossible. The result is a multi-layered fabric—a double-sided rug—whose two sides differ in pattern and color scheme.

The cotton yarn used in the fabric is 100% recycled.

The visual language of present artwork has been inspired by the surrounding environment—the images depicted on the rugs serve as a REFLECTION of the artist's experience. The color gradation of the diamond pattern on long rugs titled KUUSIK reflects the image of a forest emerging in the morning mist. KIRNA floor rug depicts a reed bed casting a shadow on the water’s surface glistening in the sun. The summer and winter textures found in the bog landscape echo from the sound-absorbing wall panels of NEHATU.

Monika Järg (b. 1975) is a textile designer whose daily work involves designing and developing floor rugs in Narma LLC and Tekstiil Ruumis LLC. She graduated from the department of textile design at the Estonian Academy of Arts and has worked as a lecturer at EKA, Tartu Higher Art School, and Viljandi Culture Academy of the University of Tartu.Järg is a member of the Estonian Designers’ Association and the Estonian Artists’ Association.
