Pille Kaleviste näituse keskseks teemaks on maastikud, maastike muutumine ning muutuste mõju nii maastikule kui ka inimesele. Samas vastupidiselt ka inimtegevuse mõju maastikule.

”Maastiku teeb maastikuks taevas. Valgus ja vari. Need on alati kohal, olgu kui armetu maastik tahes. Kui me hingame, hingame me seda maastikku, mis meid parajasti ümbritseb, selle maastiku õhku. Kunstniku sõnul on maastik kokkupuutepunkt looduse ja kultuuri vahel - looduse poolt antud pinnas on läbi põimunud inimlooduga - siin kohtuvad minevik, olevik ja tulevik.  Muutuvad ajad, kombed, vajadused ja sellega seoses ka inimese käega kohendatud maastikud. 

Oleme eestlastena kohapaiksed, siinsed rajad on olnud meie tallata tuhandeid aastaid. Maastikud kajavad meie geenides, võime kinnisilmi astuda tuttaval rajal või nõlval.  Kohapaiksusega on seotud meie pärimuskultuur, mõtlemise eripära, meie kultuuri lugu - sellelt pinnalt loome oma lugu.

Näituse ”Loo me lugu” väljapanek koosneb staatilistest portselanplokkidest, mis muutuvad dünaamilisteks läbi valguse ja varjude liikumise.

Näituse ühel ruutmeetril on eksponeeritud portselanplokid, milledega kunstnik osales Euroopa keraamikatriennaalil European Ceramic Context 2024 Taanis, Bornholmi saarel, pealkirjastatuna ”Silent Burning”.

Näituse helitaustaks on A.H Tammsaare õe Marta Hanseni poolt esitatud laulu „Suure tamme laul“ salvestis. Salvestis pärineb Eesti Kirjandusmuuseumi rahvaluule arhiivist (RKM, Mgn. II 2185 g).

Pille Kaleviste (s 1967) on keraamikakunstnik ja kuraator, Eesti Keraamikute Liidu- ja Eesti Kunstnike Liidu liige. Ta on osalenud näitusetegevuses alates 2002 aastast mitmete isiknäitustega, samuti on ta osa võtnud grupi- ja žüriinäitustest nii Eestis kui ka välismaal. Kaleviste töid leiab Eesti Tarbekunsti ja Disaini Muuseumi kogus, Hanyangi Ülikooli keraamikakogus Lõuna Koreas, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Kaasaegse Kunstikeskuse keraamikakogus ning The Ceramic house kollektsioonis Brightonis.

The central theme at the current exhibition is landscapes, their transformation, and the impact of these changes on both landscape and people. At the same time, it also explores the impact of human activity on landscape.

"The sky makes the landscape. Light and shadow. These are always there, no matter how bleak the landscape may be. When we breathe, we breathe in the landscape that surrounds us, the air of that landscape. We are connected to the surrounding landscape through our blood circulation. Pille Kaleviste says that landscape forms an intersection between nature and culture – the soil provided by nature is intertwined with human creation – this is where the past, present, and future meet. Landscapes shaped by human hands change along with times, traditions and needs.

We, Estonians, are amphibians; we have walked these local paths for thousands of years. The landscapes echo in our genes; we can walk blindfolded on a familiar path or slope.  Our heritage culture, our way of thinking, and the story of our culture are all connected to our rootedness in place – it is from this foundation that we create our own story.

The exhibition “Create Our Story” consists of static porcelain blocks that become dynamic through the movement of light and shadows. One square meter of the exhibition space displays porcelain blocks which were exhibited under the title “Silent Burning" at the European Ceramic Context 2024 ceramics triennial on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. The soundtrack for the exhibition is the recording of the song “Suure tamme laul” (“Song of the Great Oak”) performed by A.H. Tammsaare's sister Marta Hansen. The recording comes from the folklore archives of the Estonian Literary Museum.

Pille Kaleviste (b. 1967) Pille Kaleviste (b. 1967) is a ceramic artist and curator, member of the Estonian Ceramists' Association and the Estonian Artists' Association. She has participated in exhibitions since 2002 with several solo exhibitions, as well as group and jury exhibitions in Estonia and abroad. Kaleviste's works can be found in the collection of the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, the ceramics collection of Hanyang University in South Korea, the ceramics collection of the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Contemporary Art Center, and The Ceramic House collection in Brighton.
